In his role as Operations Manager Joey Chandler oversees PowerTown’s contract with FP&L in southwest Florida. He has more than 30 years experience, including work with Duke Energy as well as Sumter County Electrical Coop in Florida (SECO Energy) – among the nation’s largest electrical cooperatives. At one point Chandler served as a County Commissioner in Sumter County, famously home to “The Villages” retirement community.
Chandler joined PowerTown in mid-2019 to take on the task of building and supervising the team responsible for handling PowerTown’s significant work with FP&L. This work includes distribution grid “hardening” such as pole replacement, upfitting new re-closures as well as re-insulation. Joey’s team also handles any “trouble” work such as repairing storm damage. Joe lives and works in southwest Florida, and is thankful for his supportive family who understands “it seems electrical grid trouble occurs on family days.”
